Mary is the 7th of nine children, and lives with her mother, father and 7 siblings. Her father is a local Anglican lay preacher, and also helps Amari as a community liaison and social worker. Her mother gardens a couple of acres belonging to Mary’s grandmother, to help provide food for the family. Mary’s family appreciates that Amari can support them in helping Mary secure an ongoing education. She has now completed primary, and will be entering secondary in 2025.
